Jan Turner

Assistant Principal

I have been an educator since I  was in kindergarten and presented the Bible story in a school graduation ceremony. I played school like many little girls, sometimes playing the role of the teacher and other times the principal. There was never a time when I considered having any other career. I always knew what I had been born to do. During high school, I worked with children during summer programs, and later tutored students. I graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead, then taught in the same elementary  school I had attended. I continued my education at MidAmerica Nazarene, where I earned my masters degree.  Eighteen months later I received my administrative certification from Emporia University. I have worked as a licensed educator in North Dakota, Georgia,  Kansas, and Missouri, and with several school systems including Shawnee Mission Public Schools, Avila University, University of Missouri Kansas City, and now KCKPS. As an administrator at New Chelsea, I interact with students and teachers on a daily basis, and each day brings different challenges and opportunities for new learning. I am happy to be part of its administrative team.

Cindy Stockwell

Instructional Coach K-2

This is my second year at New Chelsea, but I have been in the district since 1989. I pursued other educational opportunities and was gone for 8 years, but returned in 2006. I love working with students and staff in my capacity as an instructional coach.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending it with my 3 daughters. I love going to the movies, reading, and outdoor activities.
