Hello New Chelsea Family!

What an exciting week last week. STEM night for girls was a wonderful success. Close to 90 young ladies attended this great event, learning about careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Nearly all of the presenters were also female, which shows our young ladies they can be great in many different careers.

We also had a special Community Circle Friday, with special guest, Firefighter/Comedian/KCKPS graduate Mr. Barton Richardson, or "B-Rich" in the comedy world. Mr. Richardson spoke about our April character theme of AMBITION, and what it means to form a dream and go after it.

Finally, we had an amazing first meeting with our partners helping us build our playground. We met Ms. Courtny Dolan from KABOOM, and many students and parents were able to share their dream playground ideas in preparation for our community build on June 13th.

This week is STEM Night for Boys on Wednesday. Please fill out your permission slip if your student is in grades 3-5. If they have a sibling that needs to stay, we will also be able to take care of them from 2-5pm Wednesday. My challenge to the boys was to have more than 90 boys attend!
